Mineral Turpentine, also known as Mineral Turps, is a 100% industrial grade solvent. It is often used as a substitute for White Spirits and has a wide range of cleaning and household uses.

In cleaning and household applications, Mineral Turpentine is effective for cleaning paint brushes and equipment, removing stains, degreasing and cleaning automobile and machinery parts, removing sticky residues, and removing skid marks and scratches from tiles. It also has similar uses to White Spirit in the home.

In industrial and DIY applications, Mineral Turpentine can be used as a thinner for paints and varnishes, removing oil and acrylic based paints, varnishes, tar, and tree sap residues. When mixed with carnuba or beeswax, it can also be used as a wax for wood furniture and surfaces.

In painting preparation, Mineral Turpentine can be used to erase mistakes, clean paint brushes, and thin out paint. It can also be used to dissolve and break down heavy built-up oils and paints for easy cleaning.
 

Turpentine, also known as spirit of turpentine, oil of turpentine, terebenthene, or terebinthine, is a fluid obtained by distilling resin from living trees, primarily pines. It is primarily used as a specialized solvent and a source for organic syntheses. It is composed mainly of terpenes, such as alpha- and beta-pinene, with smaller amounts of carene, camphene, dipentene, and terpinolene. Petroleum distillates, such as mineral turpentine, are sometimes used as a substitute for turpentine, but the chemical compositions are not the same.
